Panther's breadth and depth of consulting experience allows the company to reuse and continually improve its library of core technologies. These core technologies are cross-pollinated across all Panther's development efforts.

The successful reuse of Panther’s component library has created a series of proven best-of-breed products now available for licensing (Panther's Integration Solution). Panther clients including Virgin-Atlantic, EDS, British Midland Airlines, Ticket Master, GetAwayQuick, eCompanies, Icebox.com, City Search, BMC Software, First-In-Line, Citicorp and CBS News are using components from the Panther library.

Product licensing is available independent of or in combination with Panther's consulting services. The following is available for licensing:

  • Panther's PHAST System is an out-of-the-box high performance, scalable transaction engine designed for middle-tier processing between web servers and disparate / legacy systems. The framework features true multi-threading support for both synchronous and asynchronous modes, so developers need only concentrate on creating requests and response handlers to their disparate systems.

  • Panther's Socket Server Gateway is an out of the box inter-machine performance solution that offers raw performance of up to 500 transactions a second through a single TCP/IP port. The Socket Server Gateway, designed to work with firewall technology, solves the instantiation problems of DCOM, CORBA, and Java RMI by pre-creating user configurable object counts and caching these pre-created objects for re-use.

  • Panther's Load Balancer Fail / Over System is a combination of broadcasting and listening services that enhance application throughput. UDP "broadcasters" on application servers inform "listeners" on Web Servers of their CPU utilization. Web server listeners use a fair weighted algorithm for selecting least utilized application servers for transaction processing.

Complimenting Panther's library of components is a series of field proven design techniques for implementing high performance user catalogs and distributed scaleable architectures. These design techniques jump-start application development with Panther proven technologies.

  • Panther's High Performance User Catalog Design Technique solves the problem of spreading database information across multiple database server machines by using a single User Catalog that redirects a query to the physical machine on which the requested data resides.
